Don Moran was recognised by Stoke on Trent City Council at their LearnMore Awards evening held at the King's Hall for his Special Achievement in the delivery of Skills for Life training and qualifications at Axia Solutions and the major impact this has had on the students he's taught. Don is seen receiving his certificate from Councillor Hazel Lyth.

 

 

 Don was appointed SfL Manager at Axia in April 2004 and has been successful in developing and delivering work-based literacy and numeracy programmes to adults across the city. During the past 6 years Don and his team have helped almost 1000 individuals improve their math's and English skills which has resulted in the achievement of around 1200 qualifications.

Don has a passion for teaching and helping individuals achieve their potential. His relaxed, laid-back approach makes learners feel at ease and encourages achievement. Many of Don's students have done little learning since schooldays and are lacking in confidence and self-esteem. Don instils in his students a sense of worth and self belief and, through exceptional teaching, leads them to the successful achievement of qualifications.
