Skills for Life Workshops

We are here to help with reading, writing and number skills. In small, friendly groups, these workshops are designed to put people at ease and build up essential skills in an easy to follow, non-threatening way.

We offer:

Adult Literacy Workshops

These are aimed at people who want to improve their English skills including effective reading and writing techniques. In our everyday lives we need these skills to be able to write letters, fill in forms, read and understand instructions, keep up to date through newspapers, notices and leaflets.

Adult Numeracy Workshops

We all need to understand maths at some level and these programmes aim to improve the number skills needed in everyday life. With these skills we can then work out how much we have in the bank, calculate sale prices on goods we want to buy, work out how much carpet to order or quite simply, the cost of a take-away.
